Abalone Shell

Abalone shells are often used as a smudge bowl for burning sage and other botanicals. They can be used in your ritual of smudging, to collect the embers from the burning of sacred herbs or as offering bowls. The abalone shell represents mother earth and to smudge with it brings healing from the ocean, from the land, from the air.  Abalone shell measures 2-3".

Abalone are harvested as a food source and the shells are used for decorative and other purposes so nothing is wasted. These are harvested in Mexico.
